The main accused in the Satsang incident in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, Sevadar Devprakash Madhukar has been arrested. He is originally from Awagarh police station area of Etah district. After this incident, his colleagues are also restless. There is a concern that on the basis of interrogation of Devprakash, they too may get caught in the clutches of action.
Devprakash Madhukar is a resident of Salempur village of Awagarh police station area. He used to work as a technical assistant on contract in MNREGA in Etah itself. About a decade and a half ago, he came in contact with Surajpal alias Bhole Baba and started serving him.
After this, he was made the chief sevadar by giving him a big responsibility. He continuously contacted people in his village, nearby villages and Etah headquarters and told them about Baba and connected people to his satsang. Meanwhile, he also made some sevadars who worked with him as assistants.
These colleagues, who were working with great enthusiasm till a few days ago, are now worried. Especially after Madhukar’s arrest, the biggest worry is whose names he will tell the police. There is no name of anyone other than him in the FIR. In such a situation, whatever names come out during the investigation, the police will tighten its grip on them.
